Indications/Uses
Adjuvant treatment of post-menopausal women w/ hormone receptor-positive early invasive breast cancer. Adjuvant treatment of early breast cancer in hormone receptor positive post-menopausal women who has received 2-3 yrs of adjuvant tamoxifen. Treatment of advanced breast cancer in post-menopausal women.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult including the elderly 1 mg tab once daily. Early disease: Treat for 5 yr. Childn Not recommended. Mild or moderate renal or mild hepatic impairment No dose change recommended.
Administration
May be taken with or without food: Swallow whole, do not chew/crush.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity; pre-menopausal women. Concomitant use w/ oestrogen-containing therapies or tamoxifen therapy. Severe renal impairment; moderate or severe hepatic disease. Pregnancy & lactation.
Special Precautions
Osteoporosis; treatment w/ LHRH analogues; reduction in bone mineral density w/ a possible consequent increased risk of fracture. Patients w/ rare hereditary problems of galactose intolerance, the Lapp lactase deficiency or glucose-galactose malabsorption should not take Arimidex. Moderate or severe hepatic impairment, severe renal impairment. Childn.
Adverse Reactions
Hot flushes; asthenia; arthralgia/joint stiffness, arthritis; headache; nausea; rash. Alopecia, allergic reactions; diarrhoea, vomiting; somnolence, carpal tunnel syndrome, sensory disturbances; increased ALP, ALAT & AST; vaginal dryness & bleeding; anorexia, hypercholesterolaemia; bone pain, myalgia.
Drug Interactions
Diminished pharmacological action w/ tamoxifen or oestrogen-containing therapies.

L02BG03 - anastrozole ; Belongs to the class of enzyme inhibitors. Used in treatment of neoplastic diseases.
