Indications/Uses
Decrease elevated IOP in ocular HTN, open-angle glaucoma as monotherapy in patients unresponsive to β-blockers or in patients in whom β-blockers are contraindicated, or as adjunctive therapy to β-blockers.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Instill 1 drop to the affected eye(s) bd-tds.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to brinzolamide, or to sulphonamides; severe renal impairment; hyperchloraemic acidosis.
Special Precautions
Patients w/ renal or hepatic impairment; significant renal tubular immaturity or abnormalities; pseudoexfoliative glaucoma or pigmentary glaucoma; narrow-angle glaucoma; compromised corneas; patients wearing contact lenses. May impair ability to perform tasks requiring mental alertness &/or physical coordination. Concomitant use w/ oral carbonic anhydrase inhibitor. Contains benzalkonium Cl. Pregnancy & lactation. Infants, childn & adolescents 0-17 yr.
Adverse Reactions
Blurred vision, eye irritation, eye pain, foreign body sensation in eyes, ocular hyperaemia; dysgeusia.
Drug Interactions
Acid-base disturbances w/ oral carbonic anhydrase inhibitors. Inhibited metabolism w/ CYP3A4 inhibitors.

S01EC04 - brinzolamide ; Belongs to the class of carbonic anhydrase inhibitors. Used in the treatment of glaucoma.
