CELMANTIN has been prescribed because: The patient has a high cholesterol level. This means the patient is at risk from a heart attack or stroke. CELMANTIN is used in adults to treat high cholesterol.
The patient has been advised to take a statin, because changing the diet and doing more exercise were not enough to correct the cholesterol levels. The patient should continue with the cholesterol-lowering diet and exercise while taking CELMANTIN.
The patient has other factors that increase the risk of having a heart attack, stroke or related health problems. Heart attack, stroke and other problems can be caused by a disease called atherosclerosis. Atherosclerosis is due to buildup of fatty deposits in the arteries.
