Relief of pain & inflammation in conditions eg, RA, OA, ankylosing spondylitis, acute gout & following some surgical procedures.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Clofenac Adult 75-150 mg daily in divided doses. ChildnJuvenile chronic arthritis 1-3 mg/kg body wt/day in divided doses. Clofenac SR 100 mg daily.
Administration
Should be taken with food: Take immediately after meals. Swallow whole, do not chew/crush.
Contraindications
Acute porphyria. Hypersensitivity to aspirin or other NSAIDs. Pregnancy. Acute or suspected peptic ulcer or GI bleeding. Patients w/ bone marrow depression. Pregnancy, lactation.
Special Precautions
History of GI ulceration, haematemesis or melaena; ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease, haematological abnormalities or bleeding diathesis. Renal or hepatic impairment; hepatic porphyria.
