Indications/Uses
Prevention of atherothrombosis & reduce risk of heart attack, stroke or death in patients previously suffer from heart attack, stroke or have peripheral arterial disease.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Severe liver impairment. Stomach ulcer, intracranial haemorrhage. Lactation. Childn <18 yr.
Special Precautions
Bleeding disorders or blood clotting problems. Illness or disability caused by bleeding eg impaired sight or vision. Recent serious injury & surgery (including dental surgery). Liver disease. Pregnancy.
Adverse Reactions
Haematemesis or vomit looks like coffee grounds, hemoptysis, haematuria, subconjunctival haemorrhage. Unusual heavy bleeding or oozing from cuts or wounds. Numbness (paralysis) or problems w/ coordination, lightheadedness or blurred vision, slurred speech or difficulty speaking, severe & continuing headache, confusion or hallucination. Tightness of the chest, wheezing, coughing or dyspnoea; yellowing of the skin or the whites of the eye, pale stools & dark urine w/ vomiting & stomach pain, oedema.
Drug Interactions
Warfarin, aspirin, heparin, NSAIDs, antiulcerants, phenytoin, tamoxifen, tolbutamide, fluvastatin, omeprazole, esomeprazole.

B01AC04 - clopidogrel ; Belongs to the class of platelet aggregation inhibitors excluding heparin. Used in the treatment of thrombosis.
