Adult 15-25 mg/kg daily. Patient who previously received antimycobacterial therapy Initially 25 mg/kg daily for 60 days, thereafter reduced to 15 mg/kg daily. Max: 25 mg/kg/day.
Administration
Should be taken with food.
Contraindications
Prior damage to optic nerve. Childn <13 yr.
Special Precautions
May impair ability to drive or operate machinery. Hyperuricaemia, overt gout, renal impairment & excretory disorders. Chronic alcoholics treated w/ disulfiram. Pregnancy.
Adverse Reactions
Visual disorders, fever, skin reactions, GI disturbances, sensory loss w/ numbness especially in the legs, thrombocytopenia, neutropenia. Rarely, lichenoid eruptions or Stevens-Johnson syndrome.
