Indications/Uses
Acute & chronic resp tract affections w/ abundant mucous secretions.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Effervescent tab/granules Adult 600 mg daily (preferably in the evening) or 200 mg tds. Childn 100 mg bd-qds according to age. Inj Adult & childn Aerosol 1 amp once-bd for 5-10 days. Endobronchial instillation ½-1 amp once-bd a day or depending on requirement. Instillation or lavage of the ear, bladder, pleura, or other cavities ½-1 amp/application. Systemic use 1 amp by deep IM inj once-bd. Childn of school age ½ adult dose.
Administration
Should be taken with food.
Adverse Reactions
Bronchospasm; GI upsets, stomatitis; rhinorrhea; headache, tinnitus; urticaria, chills, fever; hemoptysis. Rarely, anaphylactic reactions.
