Indications/Uses
Treatment of dermatophytic infections of the skin, nails & hair.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult 500 mg/day. Childn 10 mg/kg/day. Doses may be given as single or in divided doses.
Administration
Should be taken with food: Take immediately after meals.
Contraindications
Porphyria & liver failure. Pregnancy.
Special Precautions
Hypersensitivity to penicillins & those w/ lupus erythematosus. Do not father a child, women of childbearing potential. Lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Headache, hypersensitivity reaction, dryness of mouth & GI disturbances.
Drug Interactions
Alcohol may result in tachycardia & flushing. Decreased effect w/ barbiturates. Decreased effects of coumarin-type anticoagulants, OCs.
