Indications/Uses
HTN. May be used alone or in combination w/ other antihypertensives.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Administration
May be taken with or without food: Swallow whole, do not chew/open.
Contraindications
SA block, 2nd- & 3rd-degree AV block, sick sinus syndrome, hypotension, acute MI, pulmonary congestion, pregnancy & lactation.
Special Precautions
Severe bradycardia (<50 beats/min); 1st degree AV block. Use in combination w/ β-blocker in patients w/ impaired ventricular function is limited, impaired renal or hepatic function.
Adverse Reactions
Dizziness, bradycardia, flush, AV block, lassitude, headache, hypersensitivity reactions, stomach discomfort, constipation, abdominal pain, heart burn & anorexia.
Drug Interactions
Other antihypertensive agents; β-blockers, Rauwolfia prep, increases blood conc of carbamazepine & digoxin, cimetidine, anesth, Ca antagonists.
