Adult 50 mg 1 hr prior sexual activity. May be increased up to max 100 mg or decreased to 25 mg. Max dosing frequency: Once daily.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Concomitant w/ nitric oxide donors or nitrates. Severe CV disorders. Non-arteritic anterior ischaemic optic neuropathy. Severe hepatic impairment, hypotension (<90/50 mmHg), recent history of stroke or MI, known hereditary degenerative retinal disorders.
Special Precautions
Left ventricular outflow obstruction, rare syndrome of multiple system atrophy manifesting as severely impaired autonomic control of blood pressure. Serious CV events. Angulation, cavernosal fibrosis or Peyronie's disease, priapism. Concomitant w/ other drugs for erectile dysfunction, ritonavir, α-blocker, Na nitroprusside. Bleeding disorder or active peptic ulceration. Galactose intolerance, Lapp lactase deficiency or glucose-galactose malabsorption. May affect ability to drive or operate machinery. Not indicated in women. Childn <18 yr.
