Ibuprofen
Indications/Uses
Reduction of fever caused by colds or flu. Relief of pain associated w/ headache, muscular aches & pains, sore throat, toothache &/or teething.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Childn 4-12 yr, 36-41 kg 14-15 mL; 32-36 kg 12-14 mL; 28-32 kg 11-12 mL; 25-28 kg 10-11 mL; 22-25 kg 9-10 mL; 20-22 kg 8-9 mL; 18-20 kg 7-8 mL; 16-18 kg 7 mL; 14-16 kg 6-7 mL; 12-14 kg 5-6 mL; 10-12 kg 4-5 mL. 6 mth to 3 yr, 12-14 kg 2.5-3 mL; 10-12 kg 2-2.5 mL; 8-10 kg 1.5-2 mL. All doses should be given 6-8 hrly. Max: 4 doses daily.
Administration
Should be taken with food.
Contraindications
Active alimentary canal ulceration. Patients in whom aspirin or other NSAIDs can induce symptoms of asthma, rhinitis or urticaria.
Special Precautions
Intestinal tract disease, history of bronchus asthma to suffer bronchospasm, impaired renal function, HTN, cardiac insufficiency, alimentary ulcer & haemophilia or other blood diseases eg, embolism & abnormal platelet function. Discontinue on GI bleeding, hepatic or renal function failure, ophth or auditory disfunction or blood count abnormity. May cause headache, vomiting, tiredness & hypopiesia when taken excessively. Pregnancy & lactation. Infants <6 mth.
Adverse Reactions
Stomach discomfort or pain, eruption, headache, aminopherase increment; GI bleeding & peptic ulcer exacerbation.
Drug Interactions
Other antipyretic, analgesic & anti-inflammatory agents; anticoagulants, digoxin, methotrexate, furosemide.

M01AE01 - ibuprofen ; Belongs to the class of propionic acid derivatives of non-steroidal antiinflammatory and antirheumatic products.
