Pheniramine Maleate 0.3%; Naphazoline Hydrochloride 0.025%.
Naphcon-A, an eyedrop containing both a decongestant and an antihistamine, to gently and effectively alleviate burning, itching and redness.
Instill 1 or 2 drops in the affected eyes, 3 or 4 times daily or as directed by a physician.
Naphcon-A should not be taken by patients who have ever had an allergic reaction to it or are sensitive to any of its ingredients.
Naphcon-A should not be used by patients who have heart disease, high blood pressure, or trouble urinating because of enlargement of the prostate gland or narrow angle glaucoma unless directed by physician.
Do not use in children under 6 years of age unless directed by physician. Accidental oral use can have serious consequences, especially in young children, seek medical attention immediately.
If the eyes hurt or continue to be red or irritated, if the patient experience changes in vision, if the eyes get worse, or if the itching and redness last more than 72 hours, stop using Naphcon-A and consult a physician.
Naphcon-A is unlikely to cause side effects. However, overuse can cause reddening of the eyes.
How to use this medication: Remove contact lenses before administering the medication. Do not use the solution if it becomes cloudy or changes color.
Do not touch the applicator tip to the patient's eye or any other surfaces. Do not rinse the dropper.
Steps on how to administer the eyedrops: 1. Wash the hands thoroughly.
2. Gently pull the lower eyelid down to form a pocket between the eye and the lid.
3. Hold the eyedrop bottle on the forehead or the bridge of the nose. Tilt the head back and squeeze the medication into the eye.
4. Close bottle tightly.
Store at room temperature in a tightly closed bottle. Protect from light. Discard one month after opening. Keep out of reach of children.
