Special Precautions
Before starting to use it, talk to the doctor or pharmacist if the patient has experienced a serious cardiovascular event (heart disease), or hospitalization for a cardiovascular complaint, in the previous 4 weeks (e.g. stroke, myocardial infarction, unstable angina, cardiac arrhythmia, coronary artery bypass graft and angioplasty) or if the patient suffers from uncontrollable hypertension (high blood pressure); if the patient has liver or kidney disease; if the patient has an overactive thyroid gland or has a phaeochromocytoma (a tumour of the adrenal gland that can affect blood pressure); if the patient has a skin disorder such as psoriasis, eczema or hives (urticaria) covering large area of the skin; if the patient has acute stomach or duodenal ulcer; if the patient has diabetes, because smoking cessation may lead to changes in insulin or medication requirements.
Young people under the age of 18 should only use Nicorette Invisi Transdermal Patch if recommended by a doctor. Nicorette Invisi Transdermal Patch should not be used by non-smokers.
