Pseudoephedrine HCl 60 mg, triprolidine HCl 2.5 mg
Indications/Uses
Symptomatic relief of sinus cold eg, allergic or vasomotor rhinitis.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult & childn >12 yr 1 tab 4-6 hrly.
Administration
May be taken with or without food: May be taken w/ food/milk to minimize GI irritation.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Concomitant w/ MAOIs w/in 2 wk & furazolidone. Severe HTN or CAD.
Special Precautions
Concomitant w/ antihypertensives, TCAs, decongestants, appetite suppressants & amphetamine-like psychostimulants, alcohol or other centrally acting sedatives. HTN, heart disease, diabetes, hyperthyroidism, elevated IOP, prostatic enlargement. Severe renal or hepatic impairment. May affect ability to drive or operate machinery. Pregnancy & lactation.
Adverse Reactions
CNS depression or excitation, drowsiness, sleep disturbance, skin rashes w/ or w/o irritation, tachycardia, dryness of mouth, nose & throat, urinary retention.
Drug Interactions
Increased BP w/ sympathomimetics eg, decongestants, TCAs, antidepressants, appetite suppressants & amphetamine-like psychostimulants or w/ MAOIs. Reversed hypotensive effects of bretylium, betanidine, guanethidine, debrisoquine, methyldopa, α- & β-adrenergic blockers.
