Triamcinolone acetonide
Indications/Uses
RA; synovitis; allergic rhinitis, asthma & dermatitis; pemphigus; allergic & inflammatory ophth diseases.
Dosage/Direction for Use
IA/ID 2.5-5 mg for smaller joints; 5-15 mg for larger joints.
Contraindications
Acute psychoses, serious fungal or viral infection, untreated acute or chronic infection including TB.
Special Precautions
Not to be administered IV. Prolonged use and concomitant administration w/ NSAIDs may increase risk of peptic ulcer & GI haemorrhage.
Adverse Reactions
Transient local discomfort, depigmentation & local atrophy, abscess formation; skeletal muscle wasting & weakness, impaired blood glucose control. Water & electrolyte imbalance, Cushing's syndrome.
Drug Interactions
Insulin & oral hypoglycaemic agents, diuretics, barbiturates, phenytoin, rifampicin, NSAIDs, pancuronium.

H02AB08 - triamcinolone ; Belongs to the class of glucocorticoids. Used in systemic corticosteroid preparations.
