Indications/Uses
Pain & inflammation in rheumatic disease & other musculoskeletal disorders, acute gout.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Antirheumatic 275 mg bd. Analgesic & anti-dysmenorrhoeal Initially 550 mg then 275 mg 6-8 hrly. Acute gout Initially 825 mg then 275 mg 8 hrly.
Administration
Should be taken with food: Take immediately after meals.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to NSAIDs or aspirin.
Special Precautions
Asthma or bronchospasm, bleeding disorders, CV disease, peptic ulceration or a history of such ulceration, renal failure. Pregnancy. Concomitant coumarin anticoagulants.
Adverse Reactions
GI disturbances, headache, dizziness, nervousness, rash, pruritus, tinnitus, oedema, depression, drowsiness, insomnia, blurred vision & other ocular reactions. Occasionally, hypersensitivity reactions, abnormalities or liver function tests, renal impairment, agranulocytosis, thrombocytopenia.
Drug Interactions
Frusemide, β-blockers, methotrexate, probenecid, anticoagulants, lithium, sulfonylureas, hydantoins.
