Description
Nonproprietary name: Silodosin.
Chemical name: 1-(3-Hydroxypropyl)-5-[(2R)-2-({2-[2-(2,2,2-trifluoroethoxy)phenoxy]ethyl}amino)propyl]-2,3-dihydro-1H-indole-7-carboxamide.
Molecular formula: C25H32F3N3O4.
Molecular weight: 495.53.
Silodosin occurs as a white to pale yellowish white powder. It is freely soluble in methanol and ethanol (99.5), and very slightly soluble in water. Silodosin is changed to yellowish white gradually by light. The optical rotation [α]: -13 to -17° (Its converted dehydration product is 0.2g, methanol. 20mL, 100mm). Polymorphic crystal observes.
Melting point: 105 - 109°C.
