Dosage/Direction for Use
Oral Cerebrovascular insufficiency, Functional rehabilitation after cerebrovascular accidents, Auditory, vestibular and visual disorders of ischaemic aetiology Adult: Each tablet contains almitrine 30 mg and raubasine 10 mg. Recommended dosage: 1 tablet bid. |
Contraindications
Concurrent usage with MAOIs.

Special Precautions
Pregnancy. Long term treatment may result in numbness, prickling or formication effects in the lower limbs which may, in rare cases, lead to treatment withdrawal.

Adverse Reactions
Mild GI disorders, sleep disturbances, palpitations, anxiety, dizziness. Rarely, wt loss, peripheral neuropathy with abnormal sensations in the lower limbs.

Overdosage
Signs include tachycardia, arterial hypotension, polypnoea and respiratory alkalosis. Treatment consists of gastric lavage and symptomatic supportive measures. Cardiopulmonary observation with repeated monitoring of blood gases are recommended.

Drug Interactions
Not to be used concurrently with other almitrine-containing preparations.
Potentially Fatal: MAOIs. |
Action
Almitrine and raubasine work together to increase the amount of oxygen brought to the brain and neurosensory tissue, by increasing the oxygen content of arterial blood.
