Oral
As a renoprotective agent
Adult: 2 g tid.

Adverse Reactions

Vomiting, constipation or diarrhoea, poor appetite, bloating, digestive symptoms.

Drug Interactions

May reduce the absorption of many drugs from the GIT.

Action

AST-120 is a carbonaceous oral adsorbent that attenuates the progression of chronic renal failure by removing uraemic toxins and their precursors from the GI tract.
