Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult: PO GI tract spasm; Irritable bowel syndrome 135 mg tid, may reduce gradually after several wk when the desired effect has been obtained; 100 mg tid has also been used. As modified-release cap: 200 mg bid.

Contraindications
Paralytic ileus.

Special Precautions
Patient w/ cardiac disorders (e.g. heart block). Renal and hepatic impairment. Pregnancy and lactation.

Adverse Reactions
Dizziness, headache, GI disturbances, insomnia, anorexia, decreased heart rate, hypersensitivity (e.g. urticaria, erythematous rash, angioedema).
