Severe skin reactions eg, erythema multiforme, Stevens-Johnson syndrome (SJS)/toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN) & acute generalised exanthematous pustulosis (AGEP) associated w/ the administration of bromhexine HCl. GI ulceration. Discontinue immediately if symptoms or signs of a progressive skin rash are present; 48 hr prior to collection of urine specimen for a vanilylmandelic acid test. Urinary calculi in patients consuming large quantities of over the counter guaifenesin containing prep. Erroneously high values for urinary 5-HIAA. Severe renal or hepatic impairment. Not to be used in 1st trimester of pregnancy & lactation. Not recommended in childn <2 yr.
