CELEBREX is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to celecoxib or any other ingredient of the product.
CELEBREX should not be given to patients who have demonstrated allergic-type reactions to sulfonamides.
CELEBREX should not be given to patients who have experienced asthma, urticaria, or allergic-type reactions after taking acetyl salicylic acid (ASA [aspirin]) or other NSAIDs, including other cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) specific inhibitors. Severe, rarely fatal, anaphylactic-like reactions to NSAIDs have been reported in such patients (see Anaphylactoid Reactions under WARNINGS and Pre-existing Asthma under PRECAUTIONS).
CELEBREX is contraindicated for the treatment of peri-operative pain in the setting of coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery (see WARNINGS).
