Cetirizine diHCl
Indications/Uses
Perennial & seasonal allergic rhinitis. Chronic idiopathic urticaria, allergic conjunctivitis & other skin disorders due to allergy.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult & childn >12 yr Tab 10 mg daily. Syr 10 mg (2 tsp) daily; childn 6-12 yr 10 mg (2 tsp) daily, or 5 mg (1 tsp) twice daily, in the morning & afternoon; 2-6 yr 2.5 mg (½ tsp) daily; 6-24 mth 0.25 mg/kg/day.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Lactation.
Special Precautions
Avoid concomitant use w/ alcohol. May affect ability to drive or operate machinery. Impaired renal function. Pregnancy.
Adverse Reactions
Headache, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth, GI disturbances; autonomic, peripheral & central nerve disorders; CV disorders, hearing & equilibrium disturbances, metabolic & nutrition disorders; musculoskeletal & psychiatric disorders; resp, reproductive, GUT, reticuloendothilial & visual disorders, olfactory & taste disturbances.
Drug Interactions
Alcohol & CNS suppressants.
