Fluocinolone acetonide
Indications/Uses
Relief of the inflammatory & pruritic manifestation of corticosteroid-responsive dermatoses.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Contraindications
Hypersensitvity. Primary bacterial, fungal or viral skin infection. Rosacea, acne, peri-oral dermatitis, redness due to bandage, anogenital pruritus. Childn <2 yr.
Special Precautions
Discontinue if irritation develops. Not for ophth use. Avoid contact w/ the eyes. May produce reversible hypothalmic-pituitary adrenal axis suppression, emphasis on joints, manifestations of Cushing's syndrome, hyperglycemia & glucosuria. May result in superinfection w/ prolonged use. Do not bandage treated skin areas. Pregnancy & lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Blisters, itchy, irritation, dry skin, secondary infection, folliculitis, hypertrichosis, hypopigmentation, allergic contact dermatitis, skin maceration, skin atrophy, striae & miliaria.
