Indications/Uses
Peripheral neuropathy. Inj: Megaloblastic anemia associated w/ vit B12 deficiencies.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult Inj Peripheral neuropathy 1 amp IM/IV 3 times wkly. Megaloblastic anemia 1 amp IM/IV 3 times wkly for 2 mth. Maintenance: 1 amp 1-3 mthly. Cap Peripheral neuropathy 3 times daily.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity.
Special Precautions
Cap: Discontinue if no improvement after several mth. Not recommended in high doses & prolonged use for patients which the job is in correlation to mercury or its component. HTN, CV & lung disease. Inj: Newborn (<1 mth), premature babies, infant & childn.
Adverse Reactions
Cap: Anorexia, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, skin rash. Inj: Hypersensitivity, headache, sweating, hot flushes; pain & induration at IM inj site.
Drug Interactions
Cap: Reduced absorption w/ metformin, H2-receptor antagonists (cimetidine, ranitidine), aminoglycosides, colchicine, aminosalicylic acid, anticonvulsants, alcohol. Concomitant use w/ chloramphenicol is not allowed.

B03BA05 - mecobalamin ; Belongs to the class of vitamin B12 (cyanocobalamin and analogues). Used in the treatment of anemia.
