Indications and Dosage
Allergic conditions
Adult: As HCl: 12-24 mg/day in divided doses. Max dose: 36 mg/day.
Child: As HCl: 4-6 mg/day in divided doses.

Pruritic skin disorders
Adult: As HCl: Apply a thin layer on the affected area once daily or as needed.
Special Precautions
Renal, hepatic and respiratory insufficiency. Pregnancy and lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Oral: Urinary retention, arterial hypotension, dry mouth, constipation, orofacial dyskinesia, somnolence, vertigo, muscular hypotonia, disturbances in accommodation. Topical: Cutaneous eruption, photosensitivity, rash.
Drug Interactions
Increased impairment of alertness with alcohol.
Description: Isothipendyl, an azaphenothiazine derivative, competitively binds to histamine (H1) receptors, resulting in inhibition of the pharmacological effects of histamines. It also has some sedative, anticholinergic and antiserotoninergic effects.
