Indications/Uses
Painful muscle spasm associated w/ musculoskeletal conditions.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult : PO 1.5-3 g/day in divided doses. Topical Apply w/ rubefacient 3-4 times/day.

Oral
Painful muscle spasm associated with musculoskeletal conditions
Adult: 1.5-3 g daily in divided doses.

Topical/Cutaneous
Painful muscle spasm associated with musculoskeletal conditions
Adult: Apply with rubefacient 3-4 times daily.
Contraindications
Acute porphyria.
Special Precautions
May impair ability to drive or operate machinery.
Adverse Reactions
Lassitude, drowsiness, weakness, loss of appetite, nausea and vomiting. Hypersensitivity reactions.
Overdosage
Overdosage may produce visual disturbances, motor incoordination, hypotonia, hypotension and respiratory paralysis. Treatment is supportive.
Drug Interactions
Additive CNS effects with CNS depressants e.g. barbiturates, alcohol, opioids.
Action
Description: Mephenesin is a centrally acting skeletal muscle relaxant.
Duration: Short duration of action.
