Indications/Uses
Mucolytic, acute & chronic therapy in bronchial & pulmonary diseases w/ thick mucus eg, acute bronchitis, recurrent chronic & acute bronchitis, pulmonary emphysema, mucoviscidosis, bronchiectasis.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult & childn ≥14 yr 1 cap 2-3 times daily. Childn 6-14 yr 1 cap twice daily. Mucoviscidosis Childn ≥6 yr 1 cap 3 times daily.
Administration
Should be taken with food: Take immediately after meals w/ water.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity.
Special Precautions
Consume w/ adequate water/fluid intake. Patients w/ asthma. Discontinue if w/ signs of bronchospasm. Not for long-term therapy. Co-administration w/ cough relievers (antitussives) may cause cessation of secretions. Give a min 2-hr interval if used concomitantly w/ tetracycline. Pregnancy & lactation. Childn.
Adverse Reactions
Urticaria, itching, cutaneous eruption, bronchospasm, tachycardia, hypotension.
Drug Interactions
Tetracycline HCl, nitroglycerine.
