Indications/Uses
Emergency treatment of hypovolemic shock, burn therapy, hypoproteinemia w/ or w/o edema, adult resp distress syndrome, cardiopulmonary bypass, acute liver failure, neonatal hemolytic disease, sequestration of protein-rich fluids, erythrocyte resuspension, acute nephrosis, renal dialysis.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Individualized dosage.
Contraindications
CHF; renal insufficiency; chronic anemia. Allergic reaction to albumin.
Special Precautions
Low cardiac reserve; marked dehydration. IV only. Pregnancy. Childn.
Adverse Reactions
Circulatory overload; urticaria, chills, fever; changes in resp, pulse, BP.
Drug Interactions
Do not mix w/ protein hydrolysates, amino acid soln, alcohol.
