Indications/Uses
Vit D3 deficiency (serum conc <30 ng/mL).
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult & childn >12 yr 1 chewable tab once daily. Max: 5,000 IU daily.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity, hypervitaminosis D, nephrolithiasis, nephrocalcinosis, any illness or conditions causing hypercalcemia &/or hypercalciuria, severe kidney impairment & kidney failure.
Special Precautions
Impaired kidney function, sarcoidosis, other granulomatous diseases, fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption, sucrase-isomaltase deficiency. Pregnancy, lactation. Childn <12 yr.
Adverse Reactions
Hypersensitivity reactions, nausea, vomiting, hypercalcemia, hypercalciuria, pruritus, rash, urticaria.
Drug Interactions
Phosphate infusion, cardiac glycosides, benzothiadiazine derivatives (thiazide diuretics), vit D metabolites or analogues, anticonvulsants, rifampicin, INH, orlistat, liquid paraffin, cholestyramine, cytotoxic drugs, actinomycin, imidazole antifungals, glucocorticoid, multivit & minerals, calcitonin etidronate, gallium nitrate, pamidronate, plicamycin, Al hydroxide, Mg, sucralfate, Ca salt, conivaptan, aripiprazole, axitinib, saxagliptin, bile acid sequestrant, systemic corticosteroid, CYP3A4 inducer, deferasirox, sevelamer, tocilizumab, hydantoin, barbiturate, primidone.
