Salbutamol sulfate
Indications/Uses
Bronchial asthma, chronic bronchitis & emphysema.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult & childn >12 yr 2-4 mg, 6-12 yr 2 mg, 2-6 yr 1-2 mg. To be taken 3-4 times daily.
Administration
Should be taken on an empty stomach: Take 1 hr before or 2 hr after meals.
Contraindications
Hyperthyroidism & CHD. Concurrent use w/ β-blockers.
Special Precautions
Hyperthyroidism, CV disease, aneurysm; DM, closed-angle glaucoma. Patients receiving antihypertensives or using halogenated anesth.
Adverse Reactions
Fine tremor of skeletal muscle particularly hands, palpitations & muscle cramps.
Drug Interactions
Effects antagonized by propranolol & other β-adrenoreceptor blockers & enhanced by concomitant administration of xanthines.

R03CC02 - salbutamol ; Belongs to the class of adrenergics for systemic use, selective beta-2-adrenoreceptor agonists. Used in the treatment of obstructive airway diseases.
