Leuprorelin acetate
Indications/Uses
Endometriosis at genital & extragenital localization (from stage I-IV) & central precocious puberty.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Endometriosis Adult 3.75 mg SC/IM once 4 wkly for 6 mth, <50 kg 1.88 mg. Central precocious puberty 30 mcg/kg SC once every 4 wk, may be increased to 90 mcg/kg.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to Gn-RH or its analogues. Vag bleedings of undetermined origin. Pregnancy & lactation.
Special Precautions
Endometriosis or uterine myoma for >6 mth. Patients suffering from osteoporosis during prolonged use. Perform LH-RH test regularly. Premature, newborn & nursing infant.
Adverse Reactions
Hot flushes, feeling of warmth, shoulder stiffness, headache, insomnia, dizziness, diaphoresis; arthralgia, bone pain.
