Leuprorelin acetate
Indications/Uses
Prostatic cancer with metastase, central precocious puberty & endometriosis at genital & extragenital localization (from stage I-IV). Pre-op management of uterine myoma (fibroid). Breast cancer in pre-menopausal women, provided endocrine treatment is indicated.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Prostatic & breast cancer & uterine myoma (fibroid) 1 SC inj renewed every 4 wk. Endometriosis Adult 1 SC/IM inj once every 4 wk for a period of 6 mth only; <50 kg: 1.88 mg SC/IM inj. Central precocious puberty 30 mcg/kg SC once every 4 wk, may be increased to 90 mcg/kg.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to Gn-RH or its analogues. Vag bleedings of undetermined origin. Pregnancy & lactation.
Special Precautions
Uterine myoma (fibroid). Prolonged use. Renal dysfunction due to spinal cord compression or urethral obstruction. Premature, newborn & nursing infant.
Adverse Reactions
Increased LDH; hot flushes, feeling of warmth, shoulder stiffness, headache, insomnia, dizziness; arthralgia, bone pain.

L02AE02 - leuprorelin ; Belongs to the class of gonadotropin releasing hormone analogues. Used in endocrine therapy.
