Lidocaine HCl 2.5%, prilocaine HCl 2.5%
Indications/Uses
Topical anesthetic for use on normal skin for local analgesia.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult Minor skin procedure eg, IV cannulation & venous puncture Apply 2.5 g/20-25 cm2 on the skin for at least 60 min before starting the procedure. Major skin procedure eg, split thickness skin graft harnesting Apply 2 g/10 cm2 of the skin for at least 2 hr before starting the procedure. Childn 10-20 kg Max application area: 600 cm2. >20 kg Max application area: 2,000 cm2. 10 kg Max application area is 100 cm2.
Contraindications
History of sensitivity to amide type local anesth agent.
Special Precautions
Avoid contact w/ eyes or mucous membranes. Infant <1 yr.
Adverse Reactions
Erythema, edema, abnormal sensation, paleness, urticaria, angioedema, bronchospasm, shock.
Drug Interactions
Patients receiving class I antiarrhythmic agents eg, tocainide & mexiletine; Methemoglobinemia-inducing agents eg, sulfonamide, phenacetine, phenobarb, primaquin.

N01BB20 - combinations ; Belongs to the class of amides. Used as local anesthetics.
