Indications/Uses
HTN, vasospastic (Prinzmetal's or variant angina) or chronic stable angina.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Initially 5 mg once daily, may be increased to max: 10 mg.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to dihydropyridines or amlodipine.
Special Precautions
Severe obstructive CAD. Acute hypotension, severe aortic stenosis; severe heart failure (NYHA III-IV). Avoid abrupt w/drawal. Severe hepatic impairment. Not to be used during pregnancy & lactation. Childn.
Adverse Reactions
Headache, edema. CV & GI disorders; hypoesthesia, paresthesia, tremor, vertigo; asthenia, back pain, hot flushes, malaise, pain, rigors, wt gain; sexual dysfunction, insomnia, nervousness, depression, abnormal dreams, anxiety, depersonalization; dyspnea, epistaxis; pruritus, rash, erythematous & maculopapular rash.
