Clobetasol propionate
Indications/Uses
Short-term treatment of corticosteroid-responsive resistant dermatoses eg, psoriasis, recalcitrant eczema, lichen planus, discoid lupus erythematosus & other conditions which do not respond satisfactorily to less active steroids.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Apply once-bd.
Contraindications
Rosacea, acne vulgaris, perioral dermatitis, perianal & genital pruritus, primary cutaneous viral infection, primarily infected skin lesions caused by fungi or bacteria. Childn <1 yr.
Special Precautions
Avoid prolonged & intensive treatment, occlusive dressing or application to large skin areas as systemic absorption may occur. Pregnancy & lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Hypercorticism, atrophic changes eg, striae, skin thinning, dilatation of superficial blood vessels, hypersensitivity reactions.
