Azithromycin dihydrate
Indications/Uses
Purulent bacterial & trachomatous conjunctivitis caused by Chlamydia trachomatis in adults & childn from birth.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult & childn from birth Instill 1 drop in conjunctival fornix bd (morning & evening) for 3 days.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to azithromycin or other macrolides.
Special Precautions
Discontinue if allergic reaction, superinfection occur. Not for peri- or intraocular inj. Not to be used as prophylaxis for bacterial conjunctivitis in newborn infants. May affect ability to drive & operate machinery.
Adverse Reactions
Ocular discomfort. Blurred vision, sticky eye, foreign body sensation.
