Initially 4 mg once daily, may be increased up to 16 mg once daily. Max duration: 4 wk. Elderly >75 yr, moderate to severe renal & mild to moderate hepatic impairment Initially 2 mg once daily.

Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Concomitant use w/ aliskerin-containing drugs in patients w/ diabetes or moderate to severe renal impairment (GFR <60 mL/min/1.73 m2). Pregnancy & lactation.
Dual blockade of renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system. Bilateral renal artery stenosis or artery stenosis to solitary kidney; intravascular vol depletion; patients suffering from haemodynamically relevant aortic or mitral valve stenosis or obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. Periodic monitoring of serum K & creatinine levels. Not recommended in concomitant use w/ aliskiren-containing medicines. May affect ability to drive & use machines. Severe hepatic impairment. Not to be used during pregnancy. Lactation. Childn.
