Contents
Per 25/125 mcg inhalataion Salmeterol 25 mcg, fluticasone propionate 125 mcg. Per 25/250 mcg inhalation Salmeterol 25 mcg, fluticasone propionate 250 mcg.
Indications/Uses
Reversible obstructive airways disease (ROAD). Maintenance dose of long-acting β-agonists, symptomatic on current & regular bronchodilator inhaled corticosteroid. COPD ie, chronic bronchitis & emphysema.
Dosage/Direction for Use
ROAD, COPD Adult & adolescent (≥12 yr) 2 inhalation bd.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity.
Special Precautions
Not for acute asthma symptoms. Monitor lung function test & prolonged treatment w/ inhaled corticosteroid regularly. Sudden & progressive deterioration in control of asthma. Unstable & acutely deteriorating asthma. Should not transfer from oral to inhaled. Avoid abrupt w/drawal. Active or quiescent pulmonary TB, thyrotoxicosis. Preexisting CV disease, predisposed low levels of serum K. Pregnancy & lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Tremor, subjective palpitations & headache; atrial fibrillation, supraventricular tachycardia, extrasystoles; rash, edema, angioedema; oropharyngeal irritation; hoarseness & candidiasis of the mouth & throat; Cushing's syndrome, Cushingoid features, adrenal suppression, growth retardation in childn & adolescents, decreased bone mineral density, cataract & glaucoma.
Drug Interactions
Nonselective & selective β-blockers. Ritonavir can greatly increase fluticasone propionate plasma conc. Erythromycin & ketoconazole increases in systemic exposure to fluticasone propionate.

R03AK06 - salmeterol and fluticasone ; Belongs to the class of adrenergics in combination with corticosteroids or other drugs, excluding anticholinergics. Used in the treatment of obstructive airway diseases.
