Betamethasone dipropionate
Indications/Uses
Psoriasis, contact & atopic dermatitis, neurodermatitis, lichen planus, eczema, intertrigo, dyshidrosis; seborrhoeic, exfoliative, solar & stasis dermatitis; anogenital & senile pruritus.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Apply bd or less frequently to affected areas. Moderate to severe psoriasis or atopic dermatitis Apply once daily to affected areas.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to betamethasone & other corticosteroids.
Special Precautions
Discontinue use if irritation or sensitization develops or in presence of infection. Not for ophth use. HPA axis suppression, Cushing's syndrome. Pregnancy & lactation. Adrenal suppression in paed patients. Infants & childn.
Adverse Reactions
Burning, itching, irritation, dryness, folliculitis, hypertrichosis, acneiform eruptions, hypopigmentation, perioral & allergic contact dermatitis, skin maceration & atrophy, secondary infection, striae & miliaria.
