Dosage/Direction for Use

Duro-Tuss Adult 10-15 mL every 8-10 hr. Childn 5-14 yr 5-7.5 mL every 8-10 hr, 2-5 yr 1 mL/yr every 8-10 hr. Duro-Tuss Forte Adult 5 mL every 8-10 hr.

Overdosage

Special Precautions

Discontinue use if serotonin syndrome is suspected. Decreased resp reserve, asthma. Adrenal insufficiency. Laxative effect due to sorbitol. Long-term use. Concomitant use w/ benzodiazepines, serotonergic drugs. Hepatic impairment. Not recommended during lactation. Not recommended in childn <2 yr.

Drug Interactions

Enhanced CNS depressant effects by pholcodine. Additive pharmacologic effect w/ benzodiazepines. Serotonin syndrome w/ serotonergic drugs eg, SSRIs, SNRIs, TCAs, triptans, 5-HT₃ receptor antagonists, mirtazapine, trazodone, tramadol, MAOIs.
