Indications and Dosage

Topical/Cutaneous
Pain and inflammation associated with musculoskeletal and joint disorders

Adult: As 5% cream: Apply as directed.

Contraindications

Previous or active peptic ulceration.

Special Precautions

Allergic disorders, coagulation defects; renal, cardiac or hepatic impairment; history of cardiac failure, left ventricular dysfunction, hypertension, or in patients with oedema due to other reasons; elderly, pregnancy and lactation. Feprazone should be withdrawn if GI lesions develop.

Adverse Reactions

GI disturbances and ulceration; hypersensitivity reactions, CNS effects, tinnitus, photosensitivity, haematuria; blood disorders, fluid retention, raised blood pressure.

Drug Interactions

Antidepressant, SSRIs and venlafaxine may increase risk of bleeding when given with NSAIDs. Risk of side effects increased with concomitant use of aspirin, ciclosporin, ketorolac or other NSAIDs. Lithium and methotrexate may increase risk of toxicity of NSAIDs. Effects of coumarins, phenindione, phenytoin and sulphonylureas are enhanced.
