Indications/Uses
Diagnostic fluorescein angiography or retina & iris vasculature angioscopy.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult including elderly 5 mL inj. Highly sensitive imaging system Reduce to 2 mL. Childn Dose is calculated based on 35 mg/10 lb. Dialyzed patient Reduce to 2.5 mL.
Special Precautions
Discontinue use if extravasation occurs. History of allergy or bronchial asthma. Preexisting conditions eg, CV disease, DM. Concomitant use w/ β-blockers. May affect ability to drive & use machines. Pregnancy & lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Anaphylactic shock & reaction, hypersensitivity; CVA, syncope, loss of consciousness, convulsion, para- & hypoaesthesia, dizziness, headache, dysgeusia; MI, cardiac arrest, brady- & tachycardia; shock, thrombophlebitis, hypotension, HTN, pallor; resp arrest, pulmonary & laryngeal oedema, asthma, dyspnoea, cough, throat tightness & irritation, sneezing; vomiting, retching, nausea, abdominal pain; rash, cold sweat, erythema, urticaria, pruritus, hyperhidrosis, skin discoloration; chest pain, oedema, pain, malaise, asthenia, feeling hot, chills.
Drug Interactions
Interfered analysis of blood & urinary parameters. Affected systemic profile w/ probenecid. Reduced vascular compensation reactions & adrenaline effectiveness w/ β-blockers. Drugs w/ narrow therapeutic window eg, digoxin, quinidine.
