Per g Fusidic acid 20 mg, hydrocortisone acetate 10 mg
Indications/Uses
Dermatitis including atopic & contact dermatitis where infection w/ bacteria sensitive to fusidic acid is suspected or confirmed. Milder inflammatory dermatoses on face & childn skin.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Uncovered lesion Apply bd-tds. Covered lesions Apply less frequently.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity w/ fusidic acid/Na fusidate, hydrocortisone acetate. Primary skin infections caused by fungi, virus or bacteria & TB-related skin manifestations either untreated or uncontrolled by appropriate treatment. Perioral dermatitis & rosacea.
Special Precautions
Reversible hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis suppression. Not to be used for >7 days in absence of any clinical improvement. Increased risk of developing antibiotic resistance on extended or recurrent use. Increased susceptibility to infection, aggravation of existing infection, activation of latent infection. May mask symptoms of infection. May cause local skin reactions, mucous membrane or eye irritation due to butylhydroxyanisole, cetyl alcohol & K sorbate. Avoid long-term continuous therapy. Avoid contact w/ eyes. Not to be used extensively, in large amounts or for prolonged use during pregnancy. Avoid topical breast application during breastfeeding. Childn.
Adverse Reactions
Application site reactions eg, pruritus, burning & irritation.
