Contents
Per chewable tab Al hydroxide 200 mg, Mg hydroxide 200 mg, simethicone 20 mg. Per 10 mL oral susp Al hydroxide 400 mg, Mg hydroxide 400 mg, simethicone 60 mg
Indications/Uses
Relief of gastric pain & discomforts of peptic ulcer, heartburn, dyspepsia (indigestion) & acid reflux; GI conditions caused by excessive gas (flatulence).
Dosage/Direction for Use
Chewable tab Adult & childn >12 yr 2-4 chewable tab qds, childn 6-12 yr 1-2 chewable tab qds. Oral susp Adult & childn >12 yr 10-20 mL qds.
Administration
Should be taken on an empty stomach: Tab: Preferably taken 30 min before meals or 2 hr after meals & at bedtime. Chew well before swallowing. Susp: Preferably taken 20 min-1 hr after meals & at bedtime.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Severely debilitated patients or suffering from renal failure.
Special Precautions
Not to be taken w/in 2 hr of other medications. Renal insufficiency. Chewable tab: Unsuitable for phenylketonurics.
Adverse Reactions
Constipation, diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting.
Drug Interactions
Interfered or reduced absorption of anticholinergic agents, barbiturates, digoxin, quinidine, warfarin, vit. Interfered absorption of Fe prep, tetracyclines or other antibiotics.
