Paracetamol.
Indications/Uses
Relief of fever and discomfort associated with the common cold and flu, relief of teething pain, and toothache.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Tablet: Children 12 years: 5 tablets; 11 years: 4.5 tablets; 10 years: 4 tablets; 9 years: 3.5 tablets; 7-8 years: 3 tablets; 6 years: 2.5 tablets; 3-5 years: 2 tablets; 2 years: 1.5 tablets. Do not take more frequent than 4 hours dosing interval. Do not exceed 4 doses in 24 hours.
Suspension 6 Plus Years: Children 10-12 years: 9.5-12 mL; 7-9 years: 6.5-8.5 mL; 6 years: 6 mL. Do not take more frequent than 4 hours dosing interval. Do not exceed 4 doses in 24 hours.
Suspension 1-6 Years: Children 4-6 years 9-12.5 mL; 1-3 years 5.5-9 mL. Do not take more frequent than 4 hours dosing interval. Do not exceed 4 doses in 24 hours.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to paracetamol or to any of the excipients of Panadol For Children.
Special Precautions
Renal and hepatic failure.
Adverse Reactions
Rarely, rash and other allergic reactions.
Drug Interactions
The anticoagulant effect of warfarin and other coumarins may be enhanced by prolonged regular daily use of paracetamol with increased risk of bleeding; occasional doses have no significant effect.
