Ranitidine HCl
Indications/Uses
Duodenal, benign gastric & post-op ulcer, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, systemic mastocytosis, reflux oesophagitis, chronic episodic dyspepsia.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Tab 150 mg bd or 300 mg once at bedtime. Inj 50 mg IM/IV inj every 6-8 hr.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
Special Precautions
Exclude gastric malignancy prior to therapy. May mask symptoms associated w/ stomach carcinoma. Hepatic dysfunction. Renal impairment. Pregnancy & lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Headache. Tab: Diarrhea, constipation. Inj: Transient inj site pain, burning or itching.
Drug Interactions
Tab: Delayed elimination & increased blood conc of metoprolol, theophylline, warfarin & antimuscarinics. Increased hypoglycemic effect of glipizide. Inj: Increased/decreased prothrombin time w/ warfarin. Increased plasma conc of triazolam.
