Naproxen
Indications/Uses
Relief of pain & inflammation in rheumatic disorders, acute gout & other musculoskeletal disorders.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Rheumatic disorders 250-500 mg bd. Acute gout Initially 750 mg followed by 250 mg 8 hrly. Acute musculoskeletal disorders Initially 500 mg followed by 250 mg 6-8 hrly. Juvenile RA Childn >5 yr 10 mg/kg daily in 2 divided doses.
Administration
Should be taken with food: Take immediately after meals.
Contraindications
Active peptic ulceration. Severe renal impairment.
Special Precautions
Bleeding disorders, CV disease, history of peptic ulceration. Renal failure. Pregnancy & lactation.
Adverse Reactions
GI disturbances, bleeding & ulceration; headache, dizziness, drowsiness, vertigo, itch, skin eruptions, ecchymoses, sweating, purpura, tinnitus, hearing or visual disturbances, oedema, dyspnoea, palpitations, blood disorders.
Drug Interactions
Probenecid, sulfonylureas, sulfonamides, hydantoin, β-blockers, coumarin anticoagulants, lithium, methotrexate.

M01AE02 - naproxen ; Belongs to the class of propionic acid derivatives of non-steroidal antiinflammatory and antirheumatic products.
