Triamcinolone acetonide
Indications/Uses
RA, synovitis, allergic rhinitis, asthma, allergic dermatitis, pemphigus, allergic & inflammatory ophth diseases.
Dosage/Direction for Use
IM inj Adult & childn >12 yr Initially 60 mg intragluteally, adjusted to 40-80 mg, Childn 6-12 yr Initially 40 mg. IA or IB inj Small areas: Up to 10 mg; large joints: Up to 40 mg; multiple locus involvement: Up to 80 mg.
Contraindications
Acute psychoses, ocular herpes simplex, serious fungal or viral infections, TB meningitis. Myasthenia gravis, metastatic carcinoma, diverticulitis, fresh intestinal anastomoses, active or latent peptic ulcer, chronic nephritis, HTN, thromboembolic tendencies, osteoporosis, DM, psychotic tendencies, acute or chronic infections. Renal impairment.
Special Precautions
Not for IV administration. Prolonged therapy. Pregnancy.
Adverse Reactions
Transient pain, local irritation, atrophy & depigmentation at inj site, joint discomfort.
Drug Interactions
NSAIDs, pancuronium, insulin, oral hypoglycaemic agents, salicylates.

H02AB08 - triamcinolone ; Belongs to the class of glucocorticoids. Used in systemic corticosteroid preparations.
