Fexofenadine HCl 60 mg, pseudoephedrine HCl 120 mg
Indications/Uses
Symptomatic relief of seasonal allergic rhinitis & nasal congestion eg, sneezing, rhinorrhea, itchy nose/palate &/or throat, itchy/watery/red eyes.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Administration
Should be taken on an empty stomach: Swallow whole, do not chew/crush.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to fexofenadine, pseudoephedrine, adrenergic agents. Narrow-angle glaucoma, urinary retention, severe HTN & CAD. Concomitant MAOIs therapy w/in 14 days.
Special Precautions
HTN, DM, ischemic heart disease, increased IOP, hyperthyroidism, prostate hypertrophy. Concomitant use w/ other antihistamines & decongestants. Renal impairment. Pregnancy & lactation. Not recommended in ped patients <12 yr. Elderly ≥65 yr.
Adverse Reactions
Headache, insomnia, nausea, dry mouth, dyspepsia, throat irritation, dizziness, agitation, back & abdominal pain, palpitation, nervousness, anxiety, upper resp tract infection.
Drug Interactions
Increased plasma conc w/ ketoconazole or erythromycin. Reduced antihypertensive effect of drugs interfering w/ sympathetic activity eg, methyldopa, mecamylamin, reserpine. Combined CV effects w/ other sympathomimetic amines. Decreased fexofenadine AUC w/ Al- & Mg-containing antacids. Reduced bioavailability w/ fruit juices eg, grapefruit, orange, apple.
